Benjamin and Lily wanted to dress up in their pioneer attire, and looked pretty cute. Benjamin had a coon-skin cap on and even though the weather was beautifully mild, I think it was a little hot on his head. Lily can still wear her bonnet from Bestemor and Bestefar that they got her when she was probably about Grace's age. Crazy!
This was some of the fun music being played during the morning. They played folk songs that sounded great, and there was an older gentleman who played the guitar and sang later. I thought it was fun all around, and the food was yummy too.
Lily made this corn-husk doll with the help of her daddy, and got her face painted to match Grace's, even though she was a little shy at first. Do you see the look on her face? She's pretty tickled with that doll, and even added more embellishments today. It was a full day, but lots of fun.

Wow, go NC. We didn't really do anything to celebrate Pioneer Day here. Shame on us Utahns. We even get the day off!
