A week ago last Saturday, we went to see the Bulls play in the play-offs for their division, and to honor a member of Jeff's lab who successfully graduated as a single mom. There was really great food, yummy ice cream, and great conversation for us adults. But the kids were really into the game. Benjamin and Lily brought their mits and really wanted to try and catch one of the pop-fly balls. The crowd was not really big, but I have a theory about that. It think that the people in attendance made up the majority of the sound from previous games we have attended. They were the true die-hard fans who sing every word to the song, know every cheer, and always stand at the right occasion. At home, we sometimes say "Everybody clap your hands" and then have to simultaneously clap clap clap clap clap clap clap. There's just something about going to a baseball game that leaves me feeling all American, all I need now is some apple pie with my vanilla ice cream.
