One week . . .

The Sunday before Valentine's day, we went on our traditional walk as a family.  This usually starts with some bickering banter, and complaints of not wanting to go . . . then warms up to games being played along the way like:  the traditional twenty questions, a color game that we've created as a family (someone says a color, and then everyone else chooses a fruit, veggie, or food that is that color, and then it's someone else's turn to choose a color), race to the next sign . . . you get the idea.  We asked them the other day if they like the walks (generally they are just over four miles long, and Goose rides in the stroller), they all said they did, but kind of reluctantly.  I think they just don't like to admit it. I enjoy the time we spend together and the chance for conversation.
The busy lives we lead inspired a LOVE-ly Sunday dinner, because we were all home.  Nothing says I love you like heart shaped cream biscuits! (I think the asparagus, French potato salad, and pork roast probably didn't hurt either, but melt-in-you-mouth biscuits: there ya go!)

Last week, Benjamin finally got to perform in The Evening of Entertainment that he has been preparing for before and after school for:
Four weeks . . . rehearse and rehearse, three weeks and we couldn't be worse . . . one week . . . another opening!
Thought the words of that song were very appropriate, there were more of course, but I don't remember them, and the kids were all very good, but had an exhausting schedule getting ready for the evening!

He was SOOO excited to be "on the stage where people from Hollywood had performed"  and had a couple numbers with all the middle and high school students, as well as a few with just the elementary kids, one of which had choreography and sticks.  They all did a great job, and I appreciated that we got to see his cute face in at least one of the numbers.  We did spot the top of his head during the choreography number that he was really excited about, and he was TOTALLY moving the way he should have ;)  Sitting on the Orchestra level had a lot of leg room, but I think we might have been too close, but it was awesome that he looked out and saw us, and made that sweet shy face that meant he was pleased but didn't want us to know that he saw us . . .
So, what did we do to celebrate the evening (and the fact that one of the busy activities in our world is complete!!!!)?  We went to whole foods and he picked out a fancy chocolate bar, and ginger ale.  Well done bud! YOU are totally famous!
